History
Kinouété has been created in 2001 and works for the rehabilitation of ex-detainees, intervening both inside and outside prisons.
Our rehabilitation programme is designed to assist detainees in improving self-knowledge and the concepts of responsibility whilst in prison as well as prepare them for a fresh start upon release.
The programme focuses on helping ex-detainees in their re-entry into their family circle, the workplace and the society at large.
2001: Kinouété offers a listening service in the women prison: Beau-Bassin.
2003: Kinouété is registered as a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in order to widen its rehabilitation programs in other prisons.
2005: Opening of the Drop-in Centre (DIC) for former male and female detainees.
